The M1919 was an air-cooled development of the American M1917 water cooled machine gun designed by John Browning. Belt fed and chambered originally in .30-06, these were dependable and reliable guns and have come to be used throughout the world.

Widely used during the 20th century by many armies and peacekeeping forces, it has been adopted by over 35 countries and was manufactured in the USA, UK and Belgium. They are still in widespread use today.
