Overview

The RPK (Ruchnoy Pulemyot Kalashnikova) light machine gun was developed by Mikhail Kalashnikov in the late 1950’s to replace the RPD light machine gun.

Chambered in 7.62 x 39mm, the same round as the AK47, the RPK continues to be used by the countries of the former Soviet Union and it was also manufactured in Bulgaria, Poland and Rumania.

Regarding dates and period correctness, this item is appropriate for Soviet forces and Eastern Bloc allies from the 1950’s Cold War era, up to the present day.
