Overview

The Walther MPL (Maschinenpistole Lang or “long machine pistol”).

A blowback design firing from an “L”-shaped bolt and chambered for 9 x 19mm. The receiver, made from stamped steel, forms a ventilated cooling jacket and the prominent cocking handle is located on its left front. Featuring a side-folding buttstock, made from thin steel tube, the MPL has 100 and 200 meter settings on flipup sights.

Regarding dates and period correctness, this item is appropriate for W German Police and military use from 1963 until 1985. It was exported with moderate success to amongst others, Brazil, Columbia, Mexico, Portugal, USA, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

Foxtrot has several skeleton stock Walther MPLs chambered for 9 x 19mm, all metal parts are in military phosphate finish.

Film Set Notes

As with most 9mm SMG’s, they are reliable, actor friendly, useable in confined spaces and with their short barrel, give an excellent flash.
